Dear Hormones,
I HATE you!
Yes, this is very strong language and a very rude opening to a letter. But frankly, it's your own fault I have such volatile feelings.
I am writing to let you know that I hate you and to ask you to cease and desist the massive build up in my system.
The increase of hormones in my system is completely WORTHLESS, as I have tried to point out to you these many un-childbearing-years. Sending increasing amounts of crazy hormones into my system is not going to alter this situation!
You have only succeeded in making me hysterical, anxiety-ridden, emotional, and in all other ways . . CRAZY. You must stop the madness!
Sincerely,
The owner of the hormone-infested body
P.S. My [ENTER] key is sticking and I'm crying over it as I pound repeatedly on it. Just one more evidence that you MUST go!

4 Less Tonsils at the Vincent's
It All Started Like This:
And Soon Looked Like This:
(Presurgery with Surgery Buddy)
(Presurgery, recovering from IV insertion)
Followed By Two Tonsil-less Children Looking Like This:
(Sleepy Emma trying to come out of anesthesia)
(Josh struggled with the anesthesia for awhile)
While I Waited For Hours Looking At This:
(Just, Ewwww!)
Man, I'm glad to be out of the hospital!

R-E-S-P-E-C-T
I have a new found respect for one of Pleasant Grove's Art Groups.
This morning, I was asked to help 'control' the green room as CSYP had their first performance of "Once On This Island."
I reflected on previous 'child-corraling' assignments and realized I needed to go prepared.
And all the worrying about how to professionally control 85 kids behind the stage at the Covey Center was for NOTHING!
They were quite behind the stage (with NO reminder, at all, from any adult)
There was perfect hanging of costumes on hangars!
There was perfect returning of props to labelled spots.
There was support and speaking kindly to each other.
There was excitement and friendship.
Center Stage Youth Performers has a QUALITY program put together. I can't even begin to express my admiration of them for what they are doing and the level at which they are doing it.
If you have a problem with reasonable expectations for your kid, consistency in following rules, respect, creativity, professionalism, kindness . . . then you should stay away from CSYP.
But if you love all those things, and want them for you kid -- sign them up with this group!
I love it, I love the ladies who run it!
They really do have my R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!
Check out their latest production, now showing at the Covey Center.
Ethan was adorable. I'm so happy for him to have something he loves!

I reflected on previous 'child-corraling' assignments and realized I needed to go prepared.
I thought of quite games we could play in the wings.
I practiced a magic card trick to stun the kids into silence.
I tried out several whiper / yelling techniques to get kids to be submissive to the rules.
I considered my skill at smacking kids without leaving a mark
I took caffeine drinks knowing that I'd have a HUGE headache by the end.

Three Reasons
3 Reasons I Won't Be Running On The Canal Again:
1. Melanie saw a snake on the canal
2. I saw a snake on the canal
3. I think there's probably more snakes on the canal
'Nuff said!

Worry
Our home is a cesspool of worry right now.
Worry about jobs,
Worry about school work,
Worry about responsibilities,
Worry about church stuff,
Worry about Emma getting married!
Yeah, a significant amount of my time the last week as been devoted to Emma and an oft-proposing boy at Preschool.
He asks her every day if she will marry him.
He asks her every day to hold her hand.
I'm freaking out.
Jeff and I told her that she can't hold hands until she's sixteen,
She told the boy that she can't hold hands until she's SIX!
---------------------------
Finally I went to Preschool and asked the teacher about the situation.
She said that yes, this boy does ask Emma to marry him.
And hold his hand.
But he also says he's a princess,
And wants to wear a wedding dress too.

I think I've just traded one set of worries for another!

Good Reading
The other night I ended up in bed a little earlier than usual.
(Frankly, I'm looking at an early evening tonight too, as I'm in my PJ's already and it's only 4:38pm)
Anyway. . . .
I was surfing around the internet and found some Good Reading.
I thought I'd pass it along,
Just in case you find yourself with some free time too.
1. An Imaginary Farmer
This is actually my brother's blog. My family grew up in Sandy, UT and come from parents who were raised in California. Farming was not part of my childhood. But my older brother is becoming a farmer, and his blog about it is pretty great. The link above takes you to his first entry (which is my favorite). You can click HERE for his current entry.
2. Running From Camera
This blog was actually referred to a friend, who I think is familiar with Rotterdam. But I like it because of the clever, clever idea of taking photos of yourself running from your camera. I LOVE it! I am tempted to do the same, but I'm worried about doing it due to the size of my BUTT and the small distance I can cover in 2 seconds. I think Number 87 on this blog is my favorite!
3. Erin Summerill Photography
I know, I know! Most of you already are mucho familiar, and mucho in love with Erin. But in case you aren't I just have to let you see how talented she is. I love looking through her website and seeing her photos. She's freakin' amazing! (I sound like I've been to Winger's lately).
If you want to see the awesome photos she took of the Young Family click HERE. I get all teary-eyed thinking of Craig off on a mission and how Alex shared such a sweet missionary testimony on Sunday. Awesome!
4. P.S. I Quilt
My mom actually hooked me up with this blog. And it's really just eye candy for me. But one day I'll get more productive and produce one of these great quilt ideas!

Balance
Balanced Rock - Moab, UT - March 2010
Ever been jealous of a rock?
I am.
This rock has acheived a long, long history of balance in its existence.
I can only find balance in my existence in small, small bits of time.
And then I topple . . . .
I'm lucky to have people in my life who help me
find my balance again.
Until I get the balance right,
You might find a serious, dangerous, unsightly
LIFE RE-CONSTRUCTION ZONE!

Personal Trainer
I'm in love with my new personal trainer!
I'm running faster than ever,
I'm feeling motivated,
Seeing results,
The trainer is AWESOME!
And Jeff paid for me to have this personal trainer,
as part of my birthday gift.
This is no cheap trainer, either!
I love you personal trainer ~

Solidarity
I just got an email!
Tomorrow is City Solidarity Day.
We are encouraged to show the Solidarity of the citizens of Pleasant Grove,
Against the stench coming from the solid waste treatment facility.
We are encouraged to tie toilet paper to our antennas!
I was going to do this TODAY as a sign that my life is in the crapper.
But I guess I'll do it tomorrow.
Does anyone think it's ODD that I got this Toilet Paper Solidarity email on April 1st?
No? Okay, I'll tie toilet paper on my antenna . . . .
